Netherlands – Spain 0:1

It was back and forth in the early stages until Júlia Bartel was freezing in the 12th minute. She snagged Femka Liefting’s misjudged attempt to clear and scored her second goal of the tournament.

The teams faced each other with very different approaches: Spain passed the ball with high frequency while the Netherlands wanted to switch quickly and break through the well-organized Spanish block.

Spain created better chances with good combination play in the Dutch half and in the 66th minute Liefting had to lob Carla Camacho’s shot over the goal.

The Netherlands pushed for the equalizer and in the 87th minute Robine Lacroix was fouled in the penalty area. Rosa van Gool started, but Txell Font had the right instinct and sent Spain into the final with her save.

France’s Louna Ribadeira scored twice in three minutes at the start of a hard-fought game. The captain converted confidently from the penalty spot, having capped off an excellent solo run with a superb finish just minutes before.

With the confidence of the lead behind them, France launched several waves of attacks, with Tara Elimbi Gilbert narrowly missing twice and Rebecca Adamczyk denying Ribadeira’s hat-trick.

Germany was the first to come back from the half-time break and immediately made it clear what the route should be. They quickly created several chances and then Laura Gloning tricked the offside trap and found Jella Veit, who chipped her shot past Ines Marques from the corner of the box.

With renewed energy, Germany took control of the game. Mara Alber just missed the post before Marques parried a close-range attempt by Franziska Kett.

Kathrin Peter’s team continued to turn up the heat and initiated an intense final phase in which the French defense collapsed in the 93rd minute, allowing Paulina Platner to equalize and force extra time.

Penalties were a thing of the past, but Kett found a way to make the comeback perfect and Germany now meet Spain in the final on Sunday.
