European football’s governing body has made official the news that many fans have been waiting for for quite some time.
Fans of the beautiful game are in luck. UEFA has announced that from next year, it will establish more accessible maximums for the purchase of tickets by the visiting public in Champions League, Europa League and Conference League matches.
The good thing about this is that the two main competitions of the Old Continent will adopt the measure in the 2024/25 campaign with Prices that will be reduced even further in 2025/26. A very positive change for people who were prevented from accompanying their team by the high cost of tickets, together with travel and accommodation expenses.
“From the 2024/25 season, the maximum ticket price for away fans will be €60 in the UEFA Champions League, €40 in the UEFA Europa League and €20 in the UEFA Conference League. This will be further reduced in the 2025/26 season to a maximum price of €50 in the UEFA Champions League, €35 in the UEFA Europa League and €20 in the UEFA Conference League.”UEFA says.
Global commitment
In the same statement, UEFA President Ceferin reaffirmed the association’s commitment to bringing football closer to fans: “Today’s decision marks another key step in reaffirming UEFA’s commitment to improving the fan experience at matches. By introducing more fan-friendly policies, we continue our mission to maintain football as an inclusive sport where fans who travel across Europe to follow their teams are valued and recognised.”dice.
