We all remember last year’s rivalry with Aston Villa. Every Legia fan also remembers the matches against Leicester City, AZ Alkmaar, and the away match against Spartak Moscow. This Thursday we will start another season of competition on the European stage. Together, we will all have the opportunity to write a new chapter in the history of Legia Warszawa. We have shown many times that even if we are not the favorite, we can upset theoretically better opponents. We believe that we will do this again on Thursday. With the support of the entire stadium, in a unique, European atmosphere in the stands, with faith and passion from the first to the last minute, we will achieve the first three points in the 2024/25 season.
In its history, Legia has not faced Real Betis yet. The last Spanish team to play a match at Łazienkowska was Real Madrid. Back then, many people didn’t give us a chance, but we showed the strength of Legia Warszawa. We are starting the new season of European competitions with one goal. This goal is to advance to the knockout stage. We want to take the first step next Thursday.
There were no new injuries in the Legia squad. Only Juergen Elitim, who is returning after a long injury, is unable to play. The remaining players will be at the disposal of coach Goncalo Feio.
