Liverpool qualified for the Champions League final, following beating its Spanish host, Villarreal, 3-2 in the semi-final second leg.
The first leg ended with Liverpool advancing at Anfield, with a score of two goals to none, bringing the total goals of the two matches 5-2 in favor of the English team.
Despite the strong start for Villarreal following leading with two goals in the first half, Liverpool returned and turned the table on its host by scoring three goals in the second half.
The Spanish team scored the first goal in the third minute of the match, through Senegalese player Boulay Dia.
Villarreal players rushed with enthusiasm following scoring the first goal, and were able to put pressure on the Liverpool players.
Emre Konan’s team added the second goal through a header by Frenchman Francis Coquelan in the 40th minute of the first half.
The first half ended with Villarreal leading 2-0, and the two teams tied for a total of 2-2 matches.
And coach Jurgen Klopp entered the Colombian Luis Diaz in the place of Diego Jota at the beginning of the second half.
The Reds managed to regain control, unlike Villarreal, whose performance declined in the second half.
Liverpool scored its first goal in the 61st minute of the match by Brazilian player Fabinho.
Diaz scored in the 66th minute, then Senegalese player Sadio Mane scored in the 74th minute, to take his team 3-2 ahead.
Villarreal’s suffering increased, following playing with 10 men, following Etienne Capuyi was sent off in the 85th minute.
This is the tenth time in its history that Liverpool has qualified for the Champions League final and the third in the last 5 seasons.
In the final match in Paris, Liverpool will face the winner of Wednesday night’s match between Manchester City and Real Madrid, with the English team advancing in the first leg (3-4).
