UDI deputies requested special session by appointment of the Undersecretary of Armed Forces

The bench of deputies of the UDI requested the secretary of the Lower House to make a special session to analyze the appointment of Galo Eildestein (PC) as Undersecretary of Armed Forces and his alleged involvement in the closure of Arcis University, of which he was vice-rector for operations and finance management.

The party, which will be opposition following the change of command, announced that look for this session to be held next March 15with the new authorities already in office.

“One of the first oversight actions we will carry out will be to convene a special session and summon the Undersecretary of the Armed Forces to explain the modus operandi of Arcis University“, explained the deputy Mr. Liuhuabinghead of the party bench.

In this line, the parliamentarian indicated that they hope to understand the role of Eidelstein ” not only in getting 8 million dollars, but also how they were taken out of the university, given in important part to the Communist Party and how this later led to the bankruptcy of the university“.

We think it is key that Chileans can know if the future Undersecretary of the Armed Forces had or did not have to do. It seems to us that it is a very serious fact and, therefore, quoting a special session will be the first act of inspection that we will carry out as an opposition,” said Coloma.

For his part, his partner Jorge Alessandri said that “the question we ask is first if that person is qualified following their defective history at Arcis University“.

“Second, when he had to go get the money to avoid a more resounding bankruptcy, he went to ask the government of Venezuelawhere he seemed to have close allies. That person, with little or terrible administrative capacity, with very close and close contacts with the dictatorial government of Venezuela, to manage our armed forces is the best person in the folders of the President-elect? I think not and should give another turn to those folders”, requested the parliamentarian UDI.

Galo Eildestein, who is a member of the Communist Party, is an electrical engineer from the University of Chile and a psychologist from UNIACC.
