We heard you love being immersed in games, so we made sure that when you open a map it’s broken down when you see an ad for our latest game. At least, that seems to be a new strategy Ubisoft is implementing right now. One user on Reddit shared a clip of them opening a map in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, only to receive a 20% discount on Assassin’s Creed Visions. Now, this isn’t unbelievable since it’s an ad for a Ubisoft game that tells you it’s easy to play once, but it still breaks the immersion and a lot of players aren’t happy with it. It’s unlikely that this will be the start of all of our in-game ads, as Ubisoft seems to really want to highlight Black Friday deals. UPDATE: Ubisoft has since claimed that a technical error caused this to happen, but we’re still not sure if it was intended to be rolled out to the public or for limited testing. Either way, the ad will be created.
