Ubisoft+ Premium and Classics: New Multi-Platform Plan and Economic Category Announcement

Ubisoft announced the launch of a new multi-platform plan called “Ubisoft+ Premium,” and added a new economic category for computer users known as “Ubisoft+ Classics.”

The two previous services, “Ubisoft+ Multi-Access” and “Ubisoft+ PC Access,” have been merged into the new “Ubisoft+ Premium” package.

The company confirmed that current subscribers to the BC Access service will not see any automatic changes to their plans, as prices will remain the same.

A subscription to the new “Ubisoft+ Premium” service will cost users $18 per month, which is $1 more than the competing “GamePass Ultimate” service.

This plan provides access to premium versions of Ubisoft games, all expansions, as well as monthly rewards.

Most importantly, subscribers will be able to play Ubisoft’s latest games right on release day, with some games available in Early Access.

For example, new subscribers can enjoy Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown before its official release date of January 18.

The “Ubisoft+ Premium” subscription can also be used across multiple platforms such as Xbox, PC, and Amazon Luna.

This allows players to start playing “Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora” on PC while at work, pick up where they left off on Xbox after dinner, and then wind down with flying adventures via smartphone before bed.

In parallel with the “Ubisoft+ Premium” updates, the company unveiled “Ubisoft+ Classics” for PC, which includes a group of popular games for $8 per month.

Among the available games are “Far Cry 6,” “Rainbow Sex Siege,” and “Watch Dogs: Legion.” It is noteworthy that “PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium” subscribers have access to the “Ubisoft+ Classics” collection at no additional cost.

Philippe Tremblay, head of subscriptions at Ubisoft, said the service had exceeded the company’s expectations in terms of subscriber numbers, saying: “We’ve seen millions of players since launch, enjoying over 600 million hours of play.”

Tremblay added that the company decided to offer “Ubisoft+ Classics” because it believes it is a strong offering at this price point, and the catalog will continue to expand as more games are added over time, allowing players to discover more of Ubisoft’s worlds.

Although the prices of the services may be prohibitive for some, it is important to keep in mind that Microsoft has sold the cloud gaming rights to Activision Blizzard games to Ubisoft in an attempt to satisfy regulators.

Last August, Ubisoft reported that the agreement meant that its subscribers would eventually be able to stream Activision Blizzard games.
