Ubisoft has a lot of projects in development, and some games that have simply disappeared from the radar. From the recently announced Assassin’s Creed Mirage to the game Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, the company has a lot going for it. There are also plenty of other projects involving the AC franchise, and the upcoming Splinter Cell Remake. Many fans of the French studio are looking forward to news regarding these projects. According to Ubisoft, we can expect something at E3 2023. Company CEO, Yves Guillemot He says “If E3 happens, we’ll be there and have a lot of things to show.”
Confirmation sounds like good news, especially when Ubisoft says it has a lot more to show. The catch is exactly in “If E3 Happens”. At the moment, there is no confirmation that the event will return this year. E3 disappeared in 2020, and so far we haven’t seen a return.
Is E3 confirmed? Apparently, yes, and Ubisoft will be there
E3 was once the place to go when we wanted to see upcoming games. However, the event has lost its relevance in the past few years. Prior to the cancellation, Sony decided to stop presenting its games at the conference. The lack of PlayStation Studios games was a huge hit at the annual fair. In 2020, we had the pandemic, and E3 was canceled for obvious reasons. Since then, studios have been picking their own live broadcasts, and there’s also Geoff Keighley’s Summer Gave Festival. The online event debuted as an online alternative to E3, and so far, it’s been a success.
There is still hope for E3 2023. Last year, the organizers shared some details regarding the event. It will have separate events for business and consumers spread over four days in June. This past January, a new organizer told E3 that there was an “enormous amount of interest” from many of the “biggest companies in the industry.” Because of this, he is confident that the event will be able to return.
Ubisoft declined to comment further. Still, the studio’s presence at the event sounds like good news. Sony and Nintendo will not be present at the event. Sony picks State of Play dreams, and Nintendo has Nintendo Direct. There is a huge trend of online-only events. When it comes to Ubisoft, the company will be able to maintain its 20-year tradition at E3.
According to rumors, the company has a neglected new franchise to reveal at E3. The company has been surrounded by controversy in the past few months. Apparently, it’s structuring projects to focus on what brings in revenue.
