“We don’t know why this is happening. It’s half fun and half disturbing, ”laments a resident met by the KTLA channel.

Orders from McDonald’s and Starbucks have been arriving by the dozens in front of the fronts of houses in a neighborhood in the northeast of the Californian metropolis since February.

A lull had been noted, before resuming even more, to the great misfortune of the citizens of Highland Park.

“We had three orders… with only fries inside,” said Alison Perrine with discouragement, while her neighbor Richard counted more than 13 bags of food in front of his door in less than two days.

Purchased through Uber Eats, the mysterious orders might be made by fraudsters to validate the operation of a credit card.

“We are all very confused when it started. We thought it was a bad joke, but if it was a joke, it was quite expensive”, exclaims a lady.

A spokesperson for the American company specializing in meal delivery promises to act to end the delivery of unsolicited meals.

“We will not hesitate to act if unsolicited orders continue,” she said.

Last March, a town on the outskirts of Vancouver saw dozens of Uber Eats orders flooding home entrances.
