The University of Autonomous Sinaloa School of Medicine stands prepared to provide aid to the roughly 3,500 individuals participating in the 32nd annual Culiacán International Marathon on January 23rd. Faculty, trainees, and medical personnel will be on hand to assist.
Alfredo Rubio Figueroa, the institution’s head, announced that Rector Jesús Madueña Molina has sanctioned the deployment of a fully outfitted emergency vehicle. This mobile unit, complete with resuscitation and massage equipment, will be positioned near the finish line to provide immediate care to competitors. Medical personnel will be deployed alongside the vehicle.
He highlighted the presence of medical students at key locations along the race route. These future physicians will monitor participants’ well-being, proactively identifying potential issues and intervening as needed to ensure runner safety.
Figueroa emphasized that both instructors and students involved possess the expertise to provide effective and timely assistance should a runner require medical intervention.
