According to the official results issued by the Inter-Institutional Commission on Training of Human Resources for Health; depending on the Ministry of Health; The Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Querétaro achieved first national place among all public universities in the country, surpassing other university institutions such as the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the University of San Luis Potosí and the University of Morelia, all institutions of high prestige in their medical schools.
According to the information provided to Publimetro by Dr. Guadalupe Zaldívar Lelo de Larrea, Director of the Faculty of Medicine and Dr. Miguel Ángel Rangel Alvarado, Coordinator of the Medicine Degree at the same institution, graduates every year from all schools and medical schools in the country present the National Medical Residency Examination; Such an evaluation enables the doctors who submitted and approved it to enter as residents in medical specialty hospitals in Mexico.
Based on the results of the said examination, the doctors from the UAQ Faculty of Medicine achieved the highest average among the total number of students from all public universities; also managed to place 102 resident doctors at the most important specialist hospitals in the country.
In a joint effort, Dr. Guadalupe Zaldívar together with Dr. Miguel Ángel Rangel were able to raise the institution to a high level of excellence.
During the administration, Dr. Saldívar and Dr. Rangel allocated approximately one million pesos per year to award scholarships for outstanding students, vulnerability scholarships, and food scholarships; They also received the rights that give students access to a very extensive bibliographic and article collection so that students do not need to buy a single book; they equipped the library and most classrooms with air conditioning; and achieved the respected international certification where students of this faculty can carry out academic exchanges with the best universities in the world.
