UAMI services will serve some 40,000 people

Within the framework of the inter-institutional support agreement signed between the Government of Carabobo and the University of Carabobo, this Thursday the services of the UC Medical Care Unit (UAMI) were reopened, located in the La Viña urbanization From Valencia.

The activity was attended by the governor of the entity, Rafael Lacava, who was accompanied by the rector of the university, Jessy Divo de Romero; the Secretary General of the Interior, Jesús París Lara; the academic vice-rector of the UC, José Ángel Ferreira, among other personalities, toured the rehabilitated spaces for the benefit of the UC community and Carabobeños in general.

During his speech, Governor Lacava assured that the rehabilitated infrastructure will provide first-class medical care to more than 40,000 people from Carabobo, who will be able to enjoy primary care services and consultations of medical specialties such as: traumatology, obstetrics-gynecology, oncology, mastology, pulmonology, internal medicine, pediatrics, dentistry, cardiology, otorhinolaryngology, psychiatry, maxillofacial surgery and orthopedics.

The governor explained that the health center will additionally offer emergency service, a cardiovascular exploration laboratory and a laboratory with the capacity to carry out more than 20 types of analysis at solidarity prices.

This center has been fully recovered for a universe of more than 40,000 people including teachers, university staff, students and the general community. We were able to see in the tour we did, the large number of tools that the population of Carabobo is going to have, inside and outside the university, to fully attend to the health system, ”he commented.

Lacava pointed out that the UAMI recovery work included the installation of the lighting system, plumbing of the floor, rehabilitation of the emergency area and the transformation of an unused administrative area into six medical offices, an outpatient surgery area, a sterilization area and bathrooms.

Likewise, he specified that the adult observation area, the cardiopulmonary examination laboratory, the main entrance of the UAMI were rehabilitated, the walls were embellished, the waterproofing was carried out, the air conditioning systems were renewed and the doors and taps were recovered.

The first part of the dream of the ucist community is being fulfilled. I am going to fulfill the other part of the dream because from the moment all the UAMI services start up, they will have their ambulance available to all patients. I am very happy that today this facility can open its doors with these characteristics”, he assured.

The rector of the UC, Jessy Divo de Romero, thanked Governor Rafael Lacava for providing Carabobeños with optimal and quality services that allow the health center today to have around 15 offices to attend to different specialties by members of the teaching staff of the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Today we express our eternal gratitude for this work that makes the health of the entire Carabobo community have eternal allies at the University of Carabobo. Grateful that regardless of politics, you are willing to work for the people. It is not just regarding doing things to do them, but you have to do them big. This is just the beginning,” he stressed.

Óscar Mora, coordinator of the UAMI, expressed his satisfaction with the improvements made to the health center, because, in his opinion, today the workers can count on optimal spaces to carry out their work.
