UAE’s Humanitarian Efforts: Treating Injured Children from Palestine in Dubai

Dubai: Children injured in the war in Palestine will be treated in the UAE. UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan ordered 1,000 children and their parents to be treated in hospitals in the UAE. The assurance was given in a phone conversation with Red Cross International President Mirjana Spoljaric. The Red Cross responded that the UAE’s decision to host children from the Gaza Strip and provide them with treatment before returning to their safe homes would be a great relief to Palestinian children.

Meanwhile, Israel continues to attack Gaza. The Hamas government stated that 195 Palestinians were killed in an Israeli bombardment of the Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza. An earlier report said that 50 people were killed in the attack. As the Israeli offensive continues. More foreigners were set to leave the Gaza Strip on Thursday. A carload of seriously injured Palestinians and 320 foreign nationals crossed the Rafah border into Egypt on Wednesday.

The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that a large explosion was heard near Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza City early Thursday. Israeli authorities had previously warned that the hospital should be evacuated immediately. UN officials said the patients might not be moved from the hospital. The Red Crescent informed that the explosion happened later. So far, more than 8500 Palestinian citizens have been killed in the war. International media reported that more than 40 percent of them were children. More than 1400 people were killed in the attack by Hamas in Israel.
