• Five Medical Specialty programs were accredited by CONACyT for their scientific quality and social incidence, positioning UAEMéx as one of the first 10 universities to offer quality educational programs.
In the face of the current health crises, the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEMéx) provides strengthening to the health system in Mexico through the accreditation of its Medical Specialty programs by the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACyT). ), which will allow the training of high-quality medical specialists, emphasized the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation of Advanced Studies, Francisco Herrera Tapia.
He added that within the framework of the 2021 call for Medical Specialty Programs in Specific Areas of CONACyT, five specialty programs were accredited in compliance with the items of scientific quality and social incidence, which are: the specialty in Anesthesiology, specialty in General Surgery, specialty in Emergency Medicine, specialty in Internal Medicine and Orthopedics specialty.
“These new specialties allow to increase the number of students who are studying in quality programs, which is very important since the university becomes an institution that offers programs accredited by CONACyT not only in undergraduate, but also in postgraduate” express.
Herrera Tapia explained that achieving accreditation required collaborative work between the Directorate for Monitoring and Evaluation of Advanced Studies, the Faculty of Medicine and the hospitals where they will be taught, ensuring that the presence of the Autonomous Mexiquense leaves the classrooms and take it to the health sector.
These specialties will be offered in 9 hospital locations of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) in the State of Mexico, guaranteeing better quality in health services, since residents will have the necessary knowledge and certifications in the specialty to provide better care for patients.
Currently there are 70 Advanced Studies programs accredited by CONACyT of the 109 programs offered by the Autonomous State of Mexico, these programs are recognized for their high academic quality, which has positioned UAEMéx as one of the top 10 universities nationwide with programs quality educational.
