Dubai: The UAE is revising its space law as part of improving international cooperation in space research.
The new version will take effect in the first quarter of next year, National Space Agency Director General Salim Bhatti Salim Al Qubaisi said.
He revealed regarding the reform of the Space Act during a panel discussion at the Dubai Airshow. The UAE first introduced the National Space Law in 2019.
Consisting of nine chapters and 54 articles, the Act came into effect in 2020. This law is very important in regulating space activities in the country.
The Act regulates the ownership of equipment for space research, the research travel of astronauts, and the operation of space tourism flights.
