UAE Show Jumping Team Achieves Outstanding Results in Paderborn & Lier Championships

Berlin, September 15, 2018 (WAM): The riders of the UAE show jumping team achieved outstanding results in the Paderborn Championships in Germany and Lier Championships in Belgium, in preparation for the Asian Games scheduled to be held in China, from September 23 to October 8.
The Knights of the UAE National Team extended their thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the State, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Presidential Office, for supporting the national team in its preparations for the upcoming events, most notably the Asian Games and the Paris Olympics.
They also praised the unlimited care over the past years from His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which culminated in continuous achievements in the past years and qualification for the Olympics.
The current national team’s camp is being held in Germany with the support of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and the supervision and follow-up of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy for Women’s Sports, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Hazza Cultural Foundation, Owner and founder of Al Shiraa Stables.
The Emirati riders were able to excel in the three-star “Lier” Championship in Belgium, with Sheikh Ali Al Qasimi, Mohammed Al Hajri and Mohammed Al Rumaithi winning first places in the hurdles race with a height of 140 cm, and Omar Al Marzouqi won third place in the small horses category, and second place in the race with a height of 140 cm. Abdullah Al Marri placed fifth in the Grand Prix round.
The Knights team continued its excellence in the “Paderborn” two-star championship, with Mohammed Al Hajri winning first place with hurdles 135 cm high, Salem Al Suwaidi also winning first and second place in the race for young horses aged 7 years, Mohammed Al Rumaithi first place with hurdles 140 cm high, and Abdullah Al Marri took first place. First in the 7-year-old “Small Horses” final, fourth in the 6-year-old category, and Omar Al Marzouqi placed third in the Grand Prix race.
