UAE National Team Wins Silver and Bronze in Arab Bow and Arrow Championship

RIYADH, 15th October, 2018 (WAM) – UAE national team player, Amna Yousef Al-Awadhi, won silver in the Arab Bow and Arrow Championship currently held in Saudi Arabia, achieving 668 points, and Jumana Ali Al-Najjar won bronze, achieving 639 points, in the women’s compound bow category.
The tournament will witness the participation of 120 male and female players representing 20 countries, and the final competitions for the teams in the men’s and women’s compound bow category will continue tomorrow, Monday.
Abdullah Al Ketbi ranked 15th in the male convex bow category, achieving 620 points, Nasser Al Sidrani ranked 20th, achieving 596 points, and Sultan Al Ketbi ranked 37th, achieving 526 points.
Aisha Al Ali won sixth place in the female convex bow category, achieving 594 points, Alia Al Ali ranked tenth, achieving 563 points, and Hessa Al Awadhi ranked 16th, with 546 points.
In the male compound bow category, Ayoub Qasim ranked 13th with 646 points, Yousef Al Hosani ranked 16th with 632 points, and Muhammad Saleh ranked 19th with 595 points.
Dr. Noura Al Marzouqi, the team’s administrator and head of the Women’s Committee of the UAE Arch and Arrow Federation, praised the good level of the team and the outstanding results in the tournament despite the strong competition from the Arab teams, adding that the arrival of the team’s players to this level reflects the combined efforts of all committees in the federation.
She pointed to the Federation’s continued efforts to adopt development programs and enhance the experiences gained through Arab, continental and international participation in various tournaments for all categories.
