The UAE Minister of Economy, Abdullah Al-Marri, expected the UAE economy to grow by more than 5% this year, compared to 3.8% in the previous year, higher than the expectations of the International Monetary Fund, which expects growth by more than 4%.

In an interview with Al Arabiya on the sidelines of the activities of the second day of the World Economic Forum “Davos”, the minister said that the INVESTOPIA platform was launched to support new sectors in the economy, including sustainable finance, metaverse, renewable energy and green hydrogen.

The minister explained that 30% of the UAE economy Depends on oil and gas.

He stated that 15% of the economy depends on tourism, and 15% on aviation.

And he indicated that these sectors were the most affected by the pandemic, so the move was made by the Ministry of Economy to find new economic sectors globally, and from here comes the role of the Investopia platform.

The minister explained that “Investopia” was launched at the World Government Summit, in the presence of a large number of large investors around the world.
