UAE announces revised bus fare system; Effective from January 23rd

Abu Dhabi: Ajman Transport Authority has announced a major change to the current bus fare system in the country. According to the new system which will come into effect on January 23, the bus fares can be paid either directly by cash or through Mazzarcard, just paying the same fare is sufficient. The charging system of all bus services will change to the new system from January 23. At the same time, the authorities have informed that there will be no change in the charge system of the buses operating to Dubai.

In the UAE, public bus fares are charged through Mazzarcard. The card can be recharged online. Can also be charged directly from bus stations. Passengers will have to pay the same amount through Mazzarcard as in cash. Bus fare in UAE currently starts from 3 dirhams. If paying in cash, the minimum bus fare is 5 dirhams. Last day, the UAE government announced a 30 percent discount on bus fare for students who have Mazurcard. The UAE aims to encourage people to use the transport system through the new system.

Visit the official website www to gov ae or visit Ajman Central Bus Station directly to apply for Mazar Card. Enter the Emirates ID and other documents at the centre. Accept card after payment. Charge as needed. The price of a Masercard is 25 dirhams.
