The Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez (UACJ) formalized the relocation of medical interns who requested it because they considered being in an area of risk to their integrity.
In a follow-up meeting for the applications of the Medicine student body that will carry out their internships starting on August 1, Salvador Nava, director of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICB), informed the interns yesterday of the progress of the procedures before the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) to accept requests to waive the aforementioned assignments.
The Medicine students who will carry out internships subsequently went to the ICB to receive advice on the documentation they must present for the process, and thus be able to start the provision of their social service on August 1.
According to the official statement, “with the foregoing, the concern of the interns regarding their refusal to go to communities considered unsafe is resolved favorably.”
Likewise, the letter ensures that the UACJ will monitor each of the graduates during their period of social service and will continue with the work of a security table.
