UABCS requires money for medical career – El Sudcaliforniano

La Paz, Baja California Sur (OEM-Informex).- One of the main factors for the Autonomous University of Baja California Sur not to have a medical degree is the financial support that the degree requires. Due to the above, it is important to highlight that for the UABCS to have a medical degree and for it to be able to train doctors in the coming years, a strong investment is required for the construction of laboratories.

In this regard, the rector of the highest university in South California, Dante Arturo Salgado González, said that for first-year students it is essential to have infrastructure such as laboratories, since from the second year of studying the degree they go to hospitals , which had already been resolved through collaboration agreements that were achieved with the entity’s health sector.

Salgado González, indicated that he is confident that the project can be carried out in the coming years, stressing that it is already a social demand, however, he reiterated that it is not something simple since a strong investment must be made and at this moment the country faces a complicated economic situation, but he affirmed that the issue will continue to be raised until it becomes a firm fact, since year following year hundreds of South Californian students leave for the state of Baja California or Sinaloa looking for the opportunity to study medicine at the Autonomous University of Baja California or in the Autonomous Region of Sinaloa.

The rector of the highest university in Sudcalifornia assured that Governor Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío is interested in strengthening the UABCS and the entire educational sector of the entity, for which he trusts that the necessary steps will be taken so that the entity Count on this career, which will benefit students who want to study medicine and who cannot do so due to lack of financial resources, since leaving the entity is somewhat complicated for some families.

It is important to remember that, in 2020, the plenary session of the State Congress approved an initiative to create the University of Health Sciences in Baja California Sur, which was predicted to be the first School of Medicine in Baja California Sur, which would have six careers: Medicine, Nursing, Nutrition, Psychology, Dentistry and Medical Rescue, however, almost three years following this the project has not been carried out, but if implemented, it was expected that said initiative would have a budgetary impact in the first year of 41 million 804 thousand 625.88 pesos.
