British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, with less than two weeks remaining in office, made a surprise visit to the capital Kiiw to celebrate Ukraine’s 31st Independence Day.

Announcing an additional military support plan worth 85 billion won, including 2,000 drones and ammunition, he emphasized that the cost of living has increased due to the surge in electricity and gas prices, but it should be tolerated.

“If we are paying high energy costs for Putin’s misdeeds, the people of Ukraine are paying their blood.”

U.S. President Joe Biden also announced plans for an additional 4 trillion won in military aid to coincide with Ukraine’s Independence Day and six months since the outbreak of the war.

It was the largest single scale ever, and the amount of US military aid to Ukraine increased to 13.4 trillion won.

President Biden said: “This assistance will ensure that Ukraine has an air defense system and a system capable of self-defense in the long term.”

“President Biden has made it clear that he will continue to hold Russia accountable for the invasion of Ukraine. We will unite the free world and get our allies and partners to once once more defend their sovereignty and support Ukraine once morest further Russian aggression. .”

A large majority of Americans also support continued support for Ukraine.

According to a Archyde.com poll of more than 1,000 U.S. adults with polling agency Ipsos, 53 percent of respondents said the U.S. should support Ukraine until all Russian troops are withdrawn from Ukraine.

The same percentage also said that paying higher energy prices due to Russian sanctions is worthwhile to protect the sovereignty of other countries.
