“We need to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines,” Biden said. “If we can’t ban assault weapons, then we should raise the age of purchasers from 18 to 21 and strengthen background checks.”

He also called on Congress to enact safe storage laws and red flag laws, repeal immunity that protects gun manufacturers from liability, and address the mental health crisis.
