Locally employed personnel, including household members (MOH) and third-country nationals (TCN), working at the U.S. Mission in Bangui, Central African Republic, may receive compensation which may include health, safety and security benefits. separation and others.

HIRING PREFERENCE SELECTION PROCESS: Applicants in the following hiring preference categories are granted hiring preference in the order listed below. It is therefore essential that these applicants accurately describe their status on the application. Otherwise, it may be determined that the candidate is not eligible for hiring preference.

ORDER OF HIRING PREFERENCE:
1. AEFM / USEFM who is a US veteran eligible for preference*
2. AEFM / USEFM
3. FS in CNP and CS with re-employment rights **

*IMPORTANT: Applicants claiming preference-eligible U.S. veteran status must submit a copy of their most recent DD-214 (“Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty”) letter from Veterans Affairs that indicates the existence current service-connected disability less than six months old, documentation or equivalent certification. A “certification” is any written document from the armed forces that certifies that the service member is expected to be discharged or released from active duty in the armed forces under honorable conditions within 120 days after the applicant submits the certification. The certification letter must be on the letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the dates of military service, including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the nature of the service. Acceptable documentation must be submitted for preference to be granted.

** This level of preference applies to all CNP and CS foreign service employees with reemployment rights in their agency or office.
