U.S. Embassy in Cuba provides updates on pending reunification cases 2024-07-24 15:44:01

The U.S. Embassy in Havana, Cuba, posted an update on its social media about what they are doing regarding pending family reunification cases, both those from 2017 and those that are more delayed or recent.

According to comments from specialists who serve the population on their official Facebook profile, in response to complaints of this type, such as the one reflected by the affected Yanet del Rosario Segarra, “they have cases without a response and without giving any information or solution since the closure of the Embassy in 2017, cases that were interviewed with their documentation reviewed and cases that were cited between August and September of the same year until it closed.”

“The embassy opened and still nothing, they have not given us another option, nor have we been notified to find out about our immigration status, we are the ones who are truly punished for being legal, we were already invited to the CFRP in 2014 and we deserve an answer,” he added.

In response to this criticism, specialists from the U.S. Embassy in Havana announced what they are doing with these pending cases of family reunification, which remain unresolved as the years go by.

Pronto We will provide information on this matter,” they assured in their response to this affected person.

Complaints about the lack of attention to pending family reunification cases are constantly arriving at the U.S. Embassy in Havana, especially since the end of 2017.

“What is happening with the documentation of the CFRP cases interviewed and others cited in 2017? Why are they not projected with our cases? Our relatives, who are American citizens, paid everything established and we are still here on the island without receiving a solution to our cases,” another Cuban told the Consulate.

“We are in a migratory limbo in which no one knows how to give us an answer, much less a solution to our cases,” said another.

We will be waiting for this information, which will be provided shortly by the US Embassy on pending reunification cases.
