Tyrolean “glacial marriage”: Electoral authority members in court

In the case of the referendum on the ultimately failed Pitztal-Ötztal ski resort merger in Tyrol, three members of the electoral authority had to answer on Tuesday at the Innsbruck regional court on suspicion of abuse of official power. They were accused of filling out voting cards for other eligible voters with “pro-votes.” The accused faced six months to five years in prison. The defendants pleaded not guilty.
