Typhoon No. 11 ‘Haikui’ is expected to change its course and land in China around next Monday.
The possibility of a direct impact on our country has been reduced.
Reporter Lee Se-heum reports.
[리포트]
It is analyzed that the 11th typhoon’Haikui’ will turn its course more westward and land near Shanghai, China.
Accordingly, it does not seem to have a direct impact on the Korean Peninsula.
‘Haikui’ is located in the sea near Okinawa, Japan as of 3 am today.
It is expected to lose its power within two days following making landfall in Shanghai, China, continuing its westward or northwesterly movement and weakening into a tropical depression.
The expected route was changed to a more westerly one.
It is because of the surrounding forces that block and pull the typhoon.
Korea will move away from the typhoon’s influence.
In the distant sea, Typhoon No. 12 ‘Geese’ is heading for the southern sea of Japan.
It was analyzed that the ‘goose’ would weaken to a tropical depression in the sea south of Kagoshima around next Monday.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said that the two typhoons would not directly affect the Korean Peninsula, but in the case of ‘Haikui’, they might bring water vapor to Korea and affect precipitation over the weekend and early next week.
Rain clouds are expected to intensify over the weekend and continue into Sunday.
