Tyler Toffoli rather calm in Calgary

The Calgary Flames might secure the Pacific Division title with a win over the Dallas Stars on Thursday night, but if they find themselves in a very favorable position, it is not necessarily because of the recent production offense from forward Tyler Toffoli.

Since March 13, the former Montreal Canadiens has scored three goals and six assists in 19 games. Traded by the Habs on February 14, he essentially maintained in Alberta the same rhythm in attack as earlier in the campaign. In Montreal, he had nine goals and 26 points in 37 outings before the trade, while in Calgary, he had 11 goals and as many assists in 32 games.

Toffoli had 44 points, hitting the target 28 times, in 52 games last season.

More recently, the winger has struggled to shake the ropes as he has been held in five straight games. His most recent goal was on April 9 once morest the Seattle Kraken. Number 73 is seven achievements from the 200 career mark. His next assist will also be his 200th in the National League.

Speaking of the Flames, they had 104 points, eight more than the Edmonton Oilers, going into today’s game.
