court ruled Al-Mahalla Al-Kubra Felonies Gharbia Governorate, headed by Counselor Sameh Abdullah and the membership of counselors Muhammad Shaheen, Asim Al-Desouki and Muhammad Mortada, to punish the accused of killing his mother following she was hit with a “knife” during the day in Ramadan, which caused her a neck wound and remained drenched in her blood for a long time until she died, with two years imprisonment.
The court was held today in the presence of the accused, his sister, her husband and the neighbors, and the defendant’s defense asked the court to discuss a number of witnesses, including the owner of a rented shop in the victim’s house, her neighbor and the husband of the accused’s sister.
The court discussed the witnesses in the case, where the neighbors and his brother-in-law said that he has good morals and loves and adores his mother and has lived with her for 6 months because of a psychological crisis, due to marital disputes.
The witnesses added that the accused had previously attempted suicide during his stay in his mother’s house, and his mother had succeeded in preventing him from committing suicide, stressing that they took him to a psychiatrist and prescribed psychological treatment for him, and that in the event of his recovery being not the same, he should be admitted to a hospital, given that he would try to commit suicide once more in a way ugliest.
The accused’s sister’s husband questioned the psychiatric report, regarding the accused’s health condition, and the court heard the defense arguments and adjourned the session for deliberation, and issued its advanced ruling.
