Two women and three children seriously injured in accident on B168 in Piesendorf

A serious traffic accident occurred on the B186 near Pisendorf late on Monday followingnoon. Three local fire departments and numerous other rescue personnel had to be deployed.

According to the Red Cross, five people were seriously injured, including two adult women and three children, all from Pinzgau.

Apparently, on the B168 in the town of Walching, the drivers collided head-on with their cars in the 80 km/h speed limit zone. One of the women had two children in the car and the other had two children.

The collision resulted in a large number of emergency services being called out. The Red Cross deployed three emergency helicopters, two emergency vehicles and three ambulances. The fire brigade of Piesendorf, Niedernsill and Zell am See as well as the police were there.

The injuries suffered by those involved in the accident were classified as serious but not life-threatening. “Fortunately we had a very dense system of emergency medical helicopters and emergency resources on the ground. We reached the scene very quickly,” said Thomas Huber, head of operations at the Red Cross. Helicopters from Zell am See , Pongau St. John and Tyrol St. John take off.
