“Although the motorcycle and parts sector closed 2022 with record figures in sales and imports in units and in money, exports fell and we still have not reached the historical figures of 2014, when it was decided to close relations with Venezuela. From what I consider, it is very interesting to return to them with the neighboring country, since it is a growth opportunity for this and other industrial sectors”, Rojas analyzed.

The strength of Asian countries in the Colombian market was also highlighted, since within the motorcycle sector, China dominates the market with a 64% share. On the other hand, India, with companies like Bajaj, are also beginning to have an impact on trade and already have a representation of 13%.

“It should be noted that in the coming months it is very important for any company to keep an eye on price behavior and the margins in each business in this scenario of high volatility of the TRM, the interest rate and the way in which the consumer moves when buying durable goods”, concluded the manager.
