And now the first step has been taken on the road to a clarification.
– It has just been agreed with the insurance company that we can demolish the building and then get started with the clean-up, says Erik Kristensen, leisure manager in Aalborg Municipality.
A political decision
However, it is not a job that starts right away.
– We must apply for various permits and take a number of precautions so that the demolition takes place as gently as possible. All environmental conditions must be in place, among other things the water must be filtered before we can remove it, he says.
– The swimming pool is used a lot, and I hope it will be rebuilt, but in the end it is a political decision when the insurance case is concluded.
Hoping for clarification before Christmas
There was no public access to the pools, but Aalborg Swimming Club used the lanes, just as they were used for various forms of school swimming.
Already two days after the violent fire, employees from the municipality and the insurance company were out at the fire site to get an overview of the damage.

It has now been decided where they can swim instead, until a plan is made for the future of the building, which has an address on Samsøgade.
– I hope that before Christmas we will have a clarification on what will happen on the grounds and with the swimming pool, says Erik Kristensen.
