Two tropical waves are heading towards Venezuela

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Name), indicated that two tropical waves number 39 and 40 are approaching Venezuela.

Wave tracking indicates that wave 39 is moving through western French Guiana, and is expected to reach Essequibo in the next few hours. Wave 40 is over Cape Verde Island and is expected to reach the country on October 3.

The two tropical waves will cause rains of varying intensity

The report states that for Tuesday, September 24, 2024, clear skies and some partially cloudy areas will predominate; except for areas of Bolívar, Amazonas, northern Essequibo Guayana, Delta Amacuro, eastern Sucre and the Andes, where the development of convective nuclei is estimated, generating scattered precipitation and occasional electrical discharges.

After noon, a progressive increase in cloud cover is expected with rain, showers and electrical discharges, especially in Bolívar, Amazonas, western Sucre, Monagas, Anzoátegui, Miranda, Capital District, Aragua, Carabobo, Falcón, western Apure, Barinas, Andes and Zulia.

The agency points out that this situation is caused by the active intertropical convergence zone over our national territory, which is reinforced by daytime warming and orographic effects.
