Quadruple WNBA champion with the Minnesota Lynx and double Olympic champion with Team USA, legend Maya Moore (1.82 m, 33 years old) has just made her retirement official.
Absent from the grounds since 2019, following marrying her husband Jonathan Irons, the man she helped free from prison following a wrongful conviction, her return seemed increasingly hypothetical as the seasons went by. His retirement is now official, with immediate effect.
The person announced the news on the show Good Morning America. « JI am extremely grateful for the opportunities the WNBA, the Minnesota Lynx and basketball have given me in my lifetime. It was a dream come true to play at the highest level and help lay the foundation for women’s basketball », did she deliver for the occasion.
A track record worthy of the greatest
This is one of the most beautiful records – if not the most beautiful – of the 2010 decade. With Team USA, she won the Olympic Games twice, in 2012 and 2016, and the World Cup in 2010 and 2014 (with the title of MVP).
The number 1 of the 2011 draft has also won four WNBA titles (2011, 2013, 2015, 2017), all with the Lynx, participated six times in the All-Star Game, was voted MVP in 2014 and five times in the best five. She has also won the Euroleague twice, with Valencia and Yekaterinburg (2012 and 2018). Sacred record!
