This Sunday the death of two Venezuelans was announced in an attempt to cross the Darién Jungle, the border between Panama and Colombia.
Both were natives of the Táchira state, until now it is unknown if they were in the same group of migrants.
The death of José Gerardo Díaz Sandoval was one of the first to be known this Sunday.
Díaz worked at the Universidad de Los Andes-Táchira, but given the country’s economic situation, he decided to try his luck in Peru and later headed for the United States, but first he had to cross the Darién Gap.
Details of the cause of death are currently unknown.
