[비즈니스포스트] Hydrogen supply is being disrupted due to the breakdown of hydrogen production facilities at Hyundai Steel’s Dangjin Steel Mill, one of Korea’s major hydrogen producers.

According to the charging industry and Hyundai Steel on the 23rd, problems occurred in two of the three hydrogen production lines at the Dangjin Steel Mill, causing inventory at hydrogen charging stations across the country to be depleted.

A Hyundai Steel official said, “One of the two broken facilities will be repaired at the end of this month, but the other facility will be able to be restored next month.”

As hydrogen production decreases and supply is disrupted, some hydrogen charging stations in the metropolitan area, Chungcheong area, and Gangwon area are operating with shortened business hours.

It is reported that Hyundai Steel supplies 20-30% of the hydrogen for transportation in the central region, including the metropolitan area.
