Samsung’s next foldable flagship isn’t even announced yet and we’re already starting to learn regarding some of its likely specs.
It’s no secret that Samsung should indeed launch this summer the Galaxy Z Fold 4successor to Galaxy Z Fold 3who would also lose its Z in the title in some countries.
Samsung’s Z Fold lineup gets better with every generation and following seeing it might be equipped with a more powerful processor than that of the S22we learn that Samsung is preparing this time to offer us new features in two specific areas: photography and design.
More powerful sensors
This is the website GalaxyClub which informs us that Samsung is currently at work to update the array of sensors of the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Samsung would therefore be ready this year to include in its folding smartphone one of the sensors of the S22 range, in particular its telephoto lens 3x. This change would cause a loss of sharpness in the final image, but would compensate with its zoom level which would allow the Fold 4 to go from a 2x optical zoom to a 3x zoom, more useful in certain situations and more in phase with the current offer of flagships.
Another notable difference would be in the design of the hinge, which would be a first since the launch of the very first Fold. This is the Twitter account @TheGalox which tells us that Samsung would consider changing its strategy and putting only one hinge instead of two to support the opening of the device.
This would allow the Fold 4 to lose thickness and gain lightness while being cheaper and more durable at the same time as removing moving parts from the device that might be a problem in the long run. Instead of the current two hinges on either side of the device, we would only have one hinge in the center.
If these two new features were well integrated into the Z Fold 4, it remains to be seen what impact they will have on the price of the phone, already offered at advanced prices. The outputs of Z Fold 4 and you Z Flip 4 should normally take place during the month of August this year, accompanied by a dedicated event.
