The National Police arrested two men allegedly responsible for the murder of Luis Fernando Osorio, a prominent community leader and nurse from Andes, Antioquia.

The detainees, identified as RA Foronda and JE Atehortúa, face charges of aggravated homicide.

The arrests were made pursuant to a court order, adding to the previous arrest of JE Acevedo, alias ‘Juancito’, who is also implicated in the case.

Murder of community leader

The events occurred on December 29, 2023, where authorities revealed that Foronda and Atehortúa, together with alias ‘Juancito’, entered the residence of the community leader.

These subjects demanded that Luis Fernando hand over his valuables and bank accounts, but he allegedly refused, which led to his murder.

Luis Fernando’s body was found on January 3, 2024, showing signs of torture and multiple gunshot wounds.

This case marks the third homicide-related arrest in Antioquia so far in 2024, highlighting the authorities’ commitment to solving crimes and providing justice for victims.
