In just two days, two men were killed by stabbing and another was wounded by gunshot, in isolated incidents that occurred in the state of Mérida.
The first incident was reported on the afternoon of Saturday, July 20, when Kelvis Dávila, 27 years old, was shot in the right leg by an unknown individual.
The incident occurred in the San Martín sector of the Aguas Calientes neighborhood in the city of Ejido, Campo Elías municipality, Mérida state, and the reasons for the incident are unknown. Mérida firefighters assisted the injured person and the Municipal Police began the necessary investigations.
The second incident occurred early Sunday morning, when Hendyleyzo José García Monsalve, 33 years old, died shortly after entering the emergency room of the Autonomous University Hospital of Los Andes, IAHULA, as a result of two knife wounds, one in the abdomen and another in the chin. Firefighters from Mérida reportedly helped García, who was wounded and managed to walk to Sucre Street in the El Llanito La Otra Banda sector, known as “El Caucho” in the Libertador municipality, where he collapsed.
Cicpc officials have begun investigations to find the person or persons responsible for the murder.
The third incident occurred on Sunday night, when a fight broke out due to alcohol consumption, where an unknown individual caused the death of Daniel José Mendoza Villegas, 24 years old, known as “El Guajiro”, originally from Sabana de Mendoza in the state of Trujillo.
The incident occurred on Bolívar Avenue in Bailadores, Rivas Dávila municipality. Firefighters transferred the body to the morgue of the San José Hospital in the city of Tovar, while the police opened the investigation.
