Lawyer Farid Bouras of Elden Advokatfirma has been appointed as defense counsel for one of the arrested men. Bouras tells NTB that his client, a 24-year-old man, pleads not guilty and expects to be cleared of the case as soon as he has explained himself to the police.
– I have had a short conversation with my client. He says that he was a witness to the night’s incident, and that he is now primarily concerned with the victim’s well-being, says Bouras.
He says that his client will be questioned during Sunday about what he witnessed last night.
– I cannot comment on the details of what my client witnessed until he has explained himself to the police.
Must arrest a third person
The police confirm opposite The cairn that they should arrest a third person in connection with Saturday’s stabbing.
– One more person has been arrested, says the lawyer on duty, Jon Ivar Johansen.
Operations manager Espen Reite in the Sørøst police district told the newspaper on Sunday morning that they are not aware of any change in the victim’s health.
Don’t talk about a casual victim
The police received a report of a stabbing in Skien at the bus station on Landmannstorget at 9.12pm on Saturday evening.
– We received a report of a fight on the spot, moved out and found the victim, who was sent to hospital, Reite told NTB on Saturday.
He stated that they were still working to get an overview of the course of events.
– We do not know the background for the violence. But after a while, two other men in their 20s were arrested in the case. I can’t go into details about how it happened, he said.
The victim in the case, a man in his early 20s, was first transported by ambulance to the hospital in Skien. But just before midnight, the man was flown to Ullevål in Oslo.
All those involved are in their 20s, and according to the police they know each other.
– There is no question of a random victim, confirms the operations manager.
