Two medals for Egypt at the end of the African Championships in Athletics

The Egyptian team concluded its campaign on the final and last day of the African Championships in Athletics, currently being held in Mauritius from June 8 to 12, by winning a silver and a bronze medal.

Ehab Abdel Rahman won the silver medal in the javelin throwing competition, following righting a number of 77.12 metres.

Behind Kenya’s Julius Yego, the first and bronze medalist, with a record of 79.62 metres.

In the same competition, Majed Al-Badri came in sixth place following achieving a record of 70.19 meters.

On the other hand, Egypt’s Mohamed Magdy Hamza won the bronze medal in the shot put competitions with a distance of 20.33 metres.

He was preceded by Nigeria’s Chukwibuka Inikichi, who won the first place and gold medal in the shot put competitions with a distance of 21.20 metres.

South Africa’s Kyle Blainet came in second, who won the silver medal in the shot put competition with a distance of 20.60 metres.

Thus, the Egyptian athletics team raises its tally to 5 medals, one silver and 4 bronze medals.

Alaa Al-Ashry won the bronze medal in the hammer throw, while Esraa Samir also won a bronze medal in the long jump.

Egypt’s Rawan Ayman won the bronze medal in the hammer throw as well.

Thus, the Egyptian team ends its participation in the African Athletics Championships in 15th place with five medals, one silver and four bronze medals.
