Xavier and Annabell had met in Robb Elementary School, and had fallen in love, reports the American media abc news.
Their mothers had noticed that they exchanged “I love you” on the phone before going to sleep. Earlier in the year, Annabell had told her mother that she had met a boy who she thought was “well dressed and smelled good”.
On junior league game days, she wore a necklace with her lover’s photo to show her support, and kept it very carefully in her bag the rest of the time.
On May 24, the day of the killing, the two children were photographed together during the presentation of merits, and had wanted to be photographed together. An hour later, the killer entered the school building.
Xavier and Annabell will be buried next to each other, their mothers decided, to honor their love.
“I’m not ready,” confided Annabell’s mother, who was finishing the preparations for the funeral ceremonies.
