A property in Hinterbrühl in the Mödling district was the scene of a home invasion in the early hours of Wednesday. According to the Lower Austria State Police Department, two people were injured, and a total of four residents – mother, two sons and a nurse – were confronted with three perpetrators. The State Criminal Police Office has taken over the investigation.
According to police, the men climbed a fence, took burglary tools from a shed and broke a window. The time period given was 4:15 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. The 66-year-old owner of the apartment woke up and wanted to ask his brother (67), who lived upstairs, for help. When he opened the front door, two masked men threatened him with handguns, pushed him back into the house and injured him.
The perpetrators searched the apartment and encountered the 95-year-old mother and her 46-year-old carer. The younger woman was attacked by one of the initially unknown people and was also injured. At the same time, the men demanded “money, money,” police reported. Ultimately, the 67-year-old was also threatened. A third perpetrator is said to have been in the vicinity of the house.
The victims filed a report late, according to the state police department. The two injured people were treated by the emergency services. Those who were attacked were completely shocked.
The perpetrator is said to be around 1.80 meters tall, 30 years old and of slim build. He was dressed in dark clothing, masked with a black balaclava and armed with a black pistol. The second man was described as being about ten centimeters shorter and also 30 years old and of a stronger build.
