Two English clubs wrestle over Ayew after he left Qatar

Andre Ayew, captain of the Ghanaian national team, is close to returning to the English Premier League following 5 years out of competition.

During the past few days, Ayew concluded his two-season career with the Qatari Al-Sadd (the leader), as he terminated his contract by mutual consent between the two parties.

The 33-year-old had contributed to Al Zaeem winning the Qatar Stars League and the Emir of Qatar Cup.

And the British newspaper “Daily Mail” learned that Nottingham Forest and Everton are preparing to launch negotiations with the French-born star.

According to the regulations, the two clubs will be authorized to sign Ayew despite the fact that the winter transfer market has already closed, given that he is a free player.

Everton wants to compensate its disaffected fans for its poor return in the winter Mercato, as it had not strengthened its ranks with any players despite its suffering in the 19th and penultimate place in the English Premier League standings table.

On the other hand, Nottingham Forest would like to continue to increase the elements of experience, especially following signing Keylor Navas, the veteran goalkeeper star.

Ayew previously played the seasons between 2015-2016 and 2017-2018 in the English Premier League, where he moved between Swansea City and West Ham United.

However, with the relegation of Swansea City, the owner of the No. 10 shirt found himself spending two seasons in the English Premier League, before traveling to Turkey, and from there to Qatar.
