Two Dominicans arrested in the Colombian Caribbean with a stash of cocaine and marijuana

The authorities of Colombia seized 367 kilos of cocaine and 14 of marijuana in the waters of the department of The Guajiraand they arrested two dominicans who were transporting the shipment in a speedboat, the Navy reported today, Saturday, September 21.

The operation was carried out 16 nautical miles (29.6 kilometers) from Cape of the Sailsaid the commander of the Coast Guard Station Santa Martathe corvette captain Jorge Carvajal.

The detainees, who were crewing the motor vessel, were handed over to the competent authority.

The Navy, Air Force and Army troops participated in the operation to seize the stash.

According to the Navy, this seizure prevented the sale of more than 900,000 doses of drugs on the streets of the world.

Between January and August 2024, just over 567 tons of cocaine and 339 tons of marijuana have been seized in Colombia, an increase of 20 and 23 percent, respectively, compared to last year, according to the Ministry of Defense.
