The night before, the Blois prosecutor’s office announced the indictment of two doctors, including the head of the emergency room, for alleged sexual assault and sexual and ethical harassment within the department.
These practitioners no longer have the right to practice within the institution and are subject to judicial supervision. If the head of the emergency room is banned from being present in Loire-et-Cher, another doctor can continue to practice in the area, such as at this medical center in the northern region of Blois, where he has a private practice. A third doctor was accused of sexual harassment but had his police custody released due to health reasons. “He has called in sick”the director said.
It all started in the spring, when a medical intern from Tours reported a sexual assault to the dean of her university. He reported the matter to Clara de Bort, director of the Regional Health Service (ARS), who immediately intervened.

“Because the educational conditions are no longer met and are still not met.”, the latter added. At his request, Valerie Boismartel launched an independent administrative investigation: she mobilized several investigators from outside the hospital and an employment lawyer. At the same time, she submitted a report to the Blois prosecutor “As these are criminal offenses under Section 40 of the Criminal Procedure Code”.

Individual interviews were conducted outside the hospital and took more than a month. At least 11 women have reported sexual assault and ongoing harassment, bullying and intimidation, sometimes for years. An anonymous report was sent to the Blois prosecutor in mid-May, who will immediately step up the investigation. The judicial police will therefore collect eight complaints.
