Several Russian airstrikes against Ukraine left at least three dead on Thursday, Ukrainian authorities reported, adding that two people died when a bomb fell in the courtyard of a school in the Sumi region (northeast) and one death in another attack near a hospital in the city of Nikopol (east).
A Russian airstrike on the town of Mogritsia in the Sumi region killed two siblings from that town, a 22-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl, as they were in the schoolyard, Volodymyr Artyukh, head of the regional administration, told the Interfax news agency.
Artiuj said that these two victims died in an attack with Russian guided bombs, on a day in which the authorities in that region recorded the launching by the Russian Army of up to 56 of these explosives.
Mogritsia is one of 23 villages in Sumi that have been evacuated due to the proximity of attacks by the invading Russian forces, although the family of the two brothers who died there “refused to leave the village in danger,” according to Artiuj.
In Nikopol, a 50-year-old man succumbed to his injuries after an artillery attack near a hospital in this eastern Ukrainian city, Dnipro Governor Serhi Lisak said on his Telegram channel.
