BTwo 20-year-old Viennese women died in a car collision on Sunday evening in Russbach, Lower Austria (Korneuburg district). Seven inmates, including two children aged three and four, suffered injuries, some of them severe. The injured were taken to hospitals in Lower Austria and Vienna. The emergency helicopters “Christophorus 2” and “Christophorus 9” were in action, the police reported on Monday in a broadcast.
A 59-year-old Viennese woman should have skidded on Hornerstraße shortly following 7.30 p.m. for an initially unknown reason and crashed with the right side of the car into the oncoming car of a family from the Horn district. For two 20-year-olds who were sitting in the Viennese’s vehicle, any help came too late. Both women died at the scene of the accident.
The 59-year-old driver, the passenger of the same age and an 18-year-old inmate were seriously injured. There were a total of five Viennese women in the car. The 33-year-old driver of the other car and the couple’s three-year-old daughter suffered unspecified injuries, while the 33-year-old woman and four-year-old son suffered serious injuries. The public prosecutor’s office in Korneuburg ordered the vehicles and the two bodies to be seized and blood drawn.
