Two dead after suspected panic at US concert

After an alleged panic at a concert in the US state of New York, a second woman died of her injuries, according to the media. The US broadcaster CNN and other media reported on Monday evening (local time), citing the police in Rochester. Hours following the incident during a concert by rapper GloRilla and rapper Finesse2Tymes in Rochester on Sunday, a 33-year-old woman died from her injuries.

Eight other people were injured at the event and taken to a hospital. The victim who has now died was one of two women who were in mortal danger, CNN continued.

After reports of shots being fired during the concert, the police rushed to the venue and found several injured people there – but found no evidence of shots. The rumor of shots probably led to a panicked escape, several media outlets quoted the police as saying. A large crowd pushed itself to the exits. In the process, people were injured.

In November 2021, eight people died in a stampede at a concert by rapper Travis Scott in Houston, Texas.
