The accident occurred at the exit of Yamoussoukro, at the end of the morning: two public transport buses collided. The alert was quickly given.

On the spot, it was the chaos: it was first necessary to clarify the area, to distinguish each type of injured according to the severity of the trauma… and to give first aid “says a rescuer. At the same time, the police and the Road Maintenance Fund secured this thoroughfare.

In total, it was necessary to mobilize seven ambulances and several teams of firefighters, who intervened for nearly three hours. The injured were evacuated to two hospitals in the administrative capital. A police investigation has been opened to determine the exact circumstances of this accident.

For its part, the Ministry of Transport should soon start a vast reform of the driving license to reduce the number of road accidents, with the introduction of a license with points.

Violations can range from a fine, the withdrawal of the license, or even to prison terms in the event of a serious violation.
